"Every dog deserves the perfect bed â trust me, I've tested a few! My personal favourite is a big orthopedic one I can stretch right across. Bliss."
Frequently Asked Questions
What size dog bed do I need?
Measure your dog from nose to tail base and add 15â30cm. For dogs that curl up, a round bed slightly larger than their curled size works. For stretchers, you need a bed at least as long as their full stretched length. As a rough guide: Small (under 10kg) â 60Ã45cm, Medium (10â25kg) â 90Ã60cm, Large (25â40kg) â 105Ã75cm, Extra-large (40kg+) â 120Ã90cm or bigger.
What type of dog bed is best for joint problems?
Orthopedic memory foam beds are best for dogs with joint problems. They spread weight evenly and relieve pressure on sore joints. Look for beds with at least 7â10cm of memory foam and a removable, washable cover. Bolster beds with orthopedic bases are also great â the raised edges provide neck and head support.
Should I get a bigger or smaller dog bed?
When in doubt, go bigger. A bed that's too small will be uncomfortable and your dog may avoid it. Most dogs prefer having room to stretch and change position. The exception is anxious dogs who may feel more secure in a snugger bolster-style bed.
How often should I replace my dog's bed?
Replace your dog's bed every 1â3 years depending on quality and condition. Signs it's time: the filling has gone flat and doesn't spring back, there's a persistent smell even after washing, the cover is torn, or your dog has outgrown it.
